Hajj 2027 from Pakistan: dates, requirements and planning
The short answer. For Hajj 2027 the quota is 179,210, split 107,526 to the government scheme and 71,684 to the private one. Applications opened on 18 August 2026 through the Pak Hajj app, with Habib Bank as the sole receiving bank, and there is no closing date: the scheme fills and closes. Plan around the two items that have a clock on them, the passport and the vaccination with a waiting period, and treat everything else as flexible.

This is the year page. What is settled, what is not, and the order to do things in. The permanent version, which does not change with the year, is Hajj from Pakistan: a complete guide.
What is settled
The quota. 179,210 pilgrims, divided sixty-forty: 107,526 seats to the government scheme and 71,684 to the private scheme. Those figures are in the Ministry's own Hajj Policy for 2027 to 2030.
The overseas share. Pakistan Origin Card holders may use Pakistan's quota for the first time under this policy, with one per cent of it, 1,792 seats. How that route works is in Hajj from abroad for overseas Pakistanis.
How to apply. The Pak Hajj app and the Ministry's website for the government scheme; a licensed Hajj Group Organiser for the private one.
The bank. Habib Bank, alone, replacing the sixteen banks used in earlier years. This is the detail most people get wrong on a first attempt.
When applications opened. 18 August 2026, moved by a day from the seventeenth.
That there is no deadline. First come, first served, until the quota is gone.
What is not settled, and why we are not printing it
The days of Hajj themselves. The dates follow the Islamic calendar and are confirmed by sighting. Any Gregorian date for the rites, this far out, is an estimate, and a travel agency printing one as fact is doing you no favours. Your group's travel dates come from your package, and they are what you plan leave around.
This year's exact document and health requirements. They are revised. Ask for the current list in writing rather than working from a page written months ago. Ours is given with the package.
What is still available. The private scheme fills through the season. Ask.
The planning timeline
Built around the clock items rather than around months, because months are the wrong unit when what runs out is seats.
As soon as you decide
- Check the passport expiry.
- Start the vaccination that has a waiting period.
- Compare passport, CNIC and NADRA so the name matches on all three.
- Decide the scheme. Nothing else can be planned first.
Then
- Government scheme: apply through the Pak Hajj app, pay through Habib Bank.
Private scheme: verify an organiser, then choose a package.
- Get the package, the inclusions, the exclusions and the cancellation terms in
writing before paying.
The months before
- Walk. For months, in the shoes you will wear. It is the preparation nobody does
and the one returning pilgrims always mention.
- See the doctor, especially for an older pilgrim.
- Buy the unscented things in Pakistan.
The full sequence is the Hajj preparation checklist.
What to decide early if you are going privately
Early booking does not buy a discount. It buys the Mina camp position, the hotel distance and the room you wanted, and those decide how the journey goes. More in how far in advance should I book Hajj.
If you are taking an older parent, the Mina category is the decision, not the hotel: Hajj for elderly pilgrims.
Where to check things yourself
The Ministry of Religious Affairs for the scheme, the policy and any change to it. For an organiser's licence and HOAP membership, how to verify a Hajj travel agency.
