How far in advance should I book Hajj?
The short answer. As early as you can, and the reason is a number rather than a deadline. The private scheme has a fixed allocation and it fills; there is no closing date to count down to. Being early buys the Mina camp and the hotel distance, not a discount. And two things must start before you book anything at all: the passport check and the vaccination with a waiting period.

People ask this expecting an answer in months. The honest answer is that months are the wrong unit, because what runs out is seats rather than time.
Why there is no deadline
Applications for Hajj 2027 opened on 18 August 2026, through the Pak Hajj app and the Ministry's website, with Habib Bank as the sole receiving bank. The scheme fills and then closes. First come, first served.
Pakistan's quota for 2027 is 179,210, split 107,526 to the government scheme and 71,684 to the private scheme. That private forty per cent is shared among every licensed organiser in the country, which is why private packages close earlier than people expect. The full picture is in the Hajj quota for Pakistan.
So the question is not "have I left it too late" but "what is still available".
What being early actually buys
Not a lower price, usually. It buys the things that decide your Hajj:
- The Mina camp category and position, which is the hardest part of the
journey and the first thing to be allocated.
- The hotel distance in Makkah, where the close buildings go first.
- The room you want, rather than the room that is left.
- Flight dates that suit your leave.
- Time to fix a problem, which is the quiet one. A passport issue or a name
mismatch found in March is an inconvenience; found in the final weeks it is a
lost departure.
What late costs
Late rarely means no Hajj. It usually means the same Hajj with a longer walk: a further camp, a further hotel, a less convenient flight, a room you did not choose. For a fit young couple that may be an acceptable trade. For a family taking an older parent it is the whole difference, because the Mina position is what decides whether they manage.
Start these before you book anything
Two items have a clock on them and both are outside anybody's control:
The passport. Check the expiry today. A renewal in a hurry is the most common reason a file stalls.
The vaccination with a waiting period. One of the required vaccinations cannot be done at the last minute. It belongs in the first week of planning, not the last month.
Both of those are in the Hajj preparation checklist, in order.
And do not let urgency do your thinking
The quota is real, so genuine urgency exists, and that is exactly why it is used by people selling something that is not real. Urgency is normal; urgency combined with a refusal to put the package in writing, or a request to pay a personal account, is the clearest warning there is.
The checks take ten minutes and are in how to verify a Hajj travel agency.
If you are deciding now
Ask any organiser three questions and you will know where you stand: what is still available for my dates, which Mina category comes with it, and how far is the hotel. We will answer those plainly, including when the answer is that what is left would not suit the people you are travelling with.
Our departures are on the Hajj packages page.
