Economy Hajj packages in Pakistan
The short answer. An economy package is cheaper somewhere specific, and your job is to find out where. The safe places to save are the room, the length and the flight. The place not to save is the Mina camp, because that saving is paid for in heat and distance on the hardest day. Ask which line was cut and you can judge any cheap package honestly.

There is nothing wrong with an economy package. Most Pakistani pilgrims go on the government scheme, which is cheaper still, and for a fit traveller it is often the right choice. What is wrong is not knowing what was cut.

The cheapest row and the dearest differ in length, maktab and room. That is where the money is, and it is where an economy package finds its savings.
The safe places to save
1. The room. The same hotel, the same dates, a lower per-person figure because more of you share. This is the largest honest saving available and it costs nothing but closeness. A family travelling together should look here first.
2. The length. Fewer nights in the Kingdom, usually fewer in Madinah. If your leave is limited anyway, this is free money.
3. The flight. One stop instead of direct. The cost is tiredness at both ends, which matters more for an older pilgrim than a young one.
4. A further hotel, if everybody travelling can genuinely manage the walk at two in the morning. Be honest about this rather than hopeful.
The place not to save
The Mina camp. Category and position decide the walk to the Jamarat, repeated, in heat, in a crowd, on the days that ask the most of you. A cheaper camp is a real saving in rupees and an expensive one in everything else.
If the budget forces a choice between a closer hotel and a better camp, take the camp. Every time, and more strongly the older the pilgrim. Mina camps during Hajj.
The savings that are not savings
A package that excludes meals and transport is not cheaper if you then buy them at retail. Compare the excluded lists, not the headlines. Hidden costs in Hajj packages.
A very large group with almost no staff. Cheap until something goes wrong.
An unlicensed seller offering a lower price. Not a cheaper option, a different thing entirely. How to verify a Hajj travel agency.
How to tell what was cut
Ask the seller directly: "this is cheaper than the other package. Which line is it?"
A straight answer, "it is a further hotel", "it is quad rather than double", "it is a shorter package", tells you everything and is usually fine. An answer that avoids the question tells you something else.
The cheapest route of all
The government scheme, which takes 107,526 of the 179,210 seats for 2027 and is cheaper than any private package. For a fit pilgrim who does not need much organising, it is often the right answer, and we say so even though we sell the other thing.
Government or private Hajj from Pakistan and the cheapest way to perform Hajj.
What we would tell our own family on a budget
Take the sharing rate. Take the shorter package. Accept the stop on the flight. Walk a bit further in Makkah. And keep the Mina camp.
Ask us for the cheapest honest option
Send us your dates, how many of you and the ages, and we will tell you the lowest figure we can do for that group, exactly which lines it cuts, and whether we think it is the right trade for the people travelling. Our departures are on the Hajj packages page.
