Can overseas Pakistanis book Umrah through a Pakistani agency?
The short answer. Yes. Umrah is not quota bound, so there is no allocation that has to belong to a particular country, and we file the visa from Pakistan for families living abroad. In a number of countries it can also be filed locally, so both routes genuinely exist and the right one depends on where you are resident. The real question is not whether a Pakistani agency can do it. It is how you pay a company you cannot walk into, and that has a clear answer too.

Why people doubt it
Because of Hajj. Hajj seats are allocated by Saudi Arabia to countries, so for Hajj the document you hold really does decide your route, and plenty of people have been told no for honest reasons. We set that out in Hajj from abroad for overseas Pakistanis.
Umrah has no quota. Nothing has to be taken out of a national allocation, so the question "is there room for me" does not arise.
So what does decide anything
Where you are resident, and only because of the visa filing.
We file from Pakistan, which is what most of our overseas families use. In a number of countries the visa can also be filed where you live. Both are real routes. Which is right for you depends on your country of residence and sometimes on your status within it.
Tell us where you live before you pay anybody. An agency that answers this without asking where you live has not answered you.
When a Pakistani agency is the better choice
When the family is split across countries. Parents in Karachi, children abroad, everybody wanting the same hotel and the same days. An office that already has the Pakistani half of the family is doing one job instead of two.
When you want somebody accountable in Pakistan. For many overseas families there is a brother, a cousin or a father in the city who can walk into the office if something goes wrong. That is worth more than it sounds.
When you want the Pakistani market's pricing. Not always cheaper once the flight is counted, but often, and worth comparing properly rather than assuming.
When you want land only. The visa, the hotels and the ground arrangements, with you buying your own ticket from your own city, sometimes on miles. Tell us if that is what you want, because a land only quote and a full package quote are not comparable numbers.
When a local operator is the better choice
We would rather say this than have you find it out.
When your flight is the whole problem. If the difficulty is a long haul route from your city, an operator who sells that route every week may structure it better.
When you cannot be without your passport. If you are mid visa application or mid residency process where you live, the filing route matters a great deal. Raise it first.
When somebody local will actually meet you. Some travellers want a face in their own city. That is a legitimate preference and no amount of good service from another continent replaces it.
The real risk, and the three lines that remove most of it
The risk is not that a Pakistani agency cannot do this. It is that you are paying a company whose door you cannot walk through.
Pay the registered company, against a receipt. Never a personal account, whatever the explanation. This single rule stops most of what goes wrong.
Get it in one written message you keep: the hotels by name, how many share the room, the nights in each city, what is excluded, and the cancellation terms. What is included in an Umrah package and our own cancellation and refunds page.
Check the licence, not the logo. Ten minutes: how to verify an Umrah travel agency. The specific tricks are in how to avoid Umrah scams.
An agency on another continent that puts it in writing is safer than one down your road that will not. Distance is not the risk. Vagueness is.
What to ask us, or anybody
- I am resident in [country]. Which route would you file my visa through, and
why that one?
- Is this quote a full package or land only?
- Which hotel in Makkah, by name, and how many minutes to the Haram?
- How many share the room at this price?
- What is not included?
- Where does my payment go, and will I get a receipt from the company?
- Who do I call in Saudi Arabia if something goes wrong?

Ask us
Tell us where you are resident, where each traveller flies from, your dates and the ages. We will tell you which route we would use and what we would charge for it, and we will say so if a local operator would serve you better. Our departures are on the Umrah packages page and WhatsApp works from anywhere.
