Five star Hajj packages in Pakistan
The short answer. A star rating describes the hotel, and the hotel is not what decides a Hajj. A five star building twenty minutes further out is a worse package than a four star you can walk back to, and both are beaten by a better Mina camp. Ask for the hotel by name and the camp category, and treat the stars as the last question rather than the first.

People search for this because stars are the only comparable number on a brochure. It is an understandable instinct and it is the wrong number.
What five star means in Makkah
A rating of the building: the rooms, the lobby, the service, the restaurants. Nothing in it describes the two things that actually shape a Hajj.
During Hajj you are in the hotel to sleep and to recover. The lobby is handsome and you will barely see it. What you will feel, several times a day, is the walk.
The two things a rating does not tell you
How far it is. A five star tower further from the Haram and a four star you can reach in a few minutes are not comparable on stars. The second is the better package for almost everybody, and especially for an older pilgrim. How far are Hajj hotels.
The Mina camp. The hotel has no bearing on it at all, and Mina is where Hajj is physically decided. A package that spends its budget on a famous building and takes the cheapest camp category has put the money in the wrong place. Mina camps during Hajj.
Where a good hotel genuinely earns its price
To be fair to the tier, some of it is real and worth paying for:
- Lifts that cope. In a tall building full of pilgrims, the lift queue at
prayer times is a real part of your day.
- Reliable cooling, which matters more than the furniture.
- Food on site at the hours a pilgrim actually eats.
- Rooms that are quiet enough to sleep in, which is not guaranteed anywhere.
- Staff who can help with a problem at two in the morning.
Those are worth money. A marble lobby is not.

These are the rates published on this website, read when the site was last built. They move with the riyal, the airfare and the season. Ask us for today's figure and we will confirm it before you pay anything.
Notice that the figures move with the room and the length, not with a star rating. That is the honest shape of the market.
How to buy well at the top end
If your budget is comfortable, spend it in this order:
- The Mina camp, category and position.
- The distance from the Haram.
- The group size, meaning how many pilgrims one leader looks after.
- The room, fewer people sharing.
- Then the hotel's standard.
Spend it in that order and you will have a better Hajj than somebody who bought on stars and paid more.
What luxury actually buys at the top end, as opposed to what a rating implies, is in luxury Hajj packages.
What to ask instead of "is it five star?"
- What is the hotel called?
- How many minutes is the walk, in season, at night?
- Is there a lift, and how far is the room from it?
- What category is the Mina camp, and where does it sit?
- How many share the room at this price?
- How many pilgrims per group leader?

Ask us for the names
We name the hotels rather than describing them in stars, on the Hajj packages page. Send us your dates and your budget and we will tell you what it buys in each of those five lines, and where we would spend it if it were our family.
