The Indonesia visa from Pakistan
Indonesia
The short answer. A Pakistani passport needs permission to enter Indonesia, and the route it takes is the thing to confirm rather than assume. Indonesia has changed its arrangements repeatedly, different nationalities are treated differently, and what was true two years ago is still being quoted as though it were true now.
Bali is the honeymoon that is not Turkey, and it is the Indonesian trip almost everybody who walks in is asking about. The tours page carries it with its price.
Confirm the route before you buy the ticket
This is the honest and important part of this page. The internet is full of confident advice about Indonesian entry that was accurate on the day it was written and is not now.
What that means in practice: do not buy a ticket on the strength of an article. Send us the passport and we will confirm the current route for it, because the difference between the possible answers is several weeks of lead time, and the wrong assumption is discovered at the airport.
What the file wants in any case
- The passport, with the validity and blank pages required on the day.
- Confirmed return flights. Indonesia is firm about onward travel.
- Accommodation for the stay.
- Evidence that you can support yourself while you are there.
The customs declaration
Separate from the visa and required of every arriving traveller: an electronic customs declaration filed shortly before or on arrival. Free, quick, and routinely forgotten by people who assumed the permission was the end of it. We handle it with the rest of the booking.
Bali has two seasons and they are not subtle
Dry runs roughly April to October and is the season people picture. Wet runs November to March, and in January it rains in a way that reorganises a holiday.
Neither is a problem for the paperwork. Both are a problem for a honeymoon booked into the wrong one, which is why we ask about the month before we ask about anything else.
Is Bali visa free for Pakistanis?
Do not travel on that assumption. Articles saying so are usually about another nationality or out of date. Send us the passport and we will confirm what applies to it now, in writing, before anything is booked.
Is halal food available in Bali?
Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority country in the world, but Bali itself is predominantly Hindu and the tourist areas cater to everybody. Halal is available and widely so. It is still worth choosing the hotel with it in mind rather than finding out on the second evening, and we do that as part of the booking.
Is Bali good for a honeymoon?
It is the one couples come back happiest from, for a reason that has little to do with the beaches: the resorts are built for two people who want to be left alone. Tell us the budget honestly and we will tell you which part of the island it buys, because the gap between the south and the hills is wide in both directions.
How long should I go for?
Five days is the common package and it works. Seven is better if you want both the south and the hills around Ubud without spending the middle of the trip in a car.
Before you pay anything
Indonesian entry arrangements change, and they have changed repeatedly. We confirm the current position for your particular passport before every booking rather than trusting any list, including this one.
Send us the passports and the month you have in mind. We will confirm the route, tell you what it needs, and be honest about the season.
