Hajj packages with flights, hotels and transport
The short answer. Three components, and people check them in the wrong order. Hotels get the most scrutiny and matter second. Transport gets the least and is where the hard days are decided, because so much of it is walking from wherever your Mina camp happens to sit. Flights matter mainly for the dates. Check all three by name and number rather than by adjective.

Almost every private Hajj package bundles the same three things. What differs is the quality of each and how honestly they are described.
1. Flights
What to check:
- Which airline, and direct or one stop.
- The dates, which are set by the group, not by you. Confirm them before you
book leave.
- Which airport you fly into and out of.
- Whether the ticket is already issued, which affects what happens if you cancel.
Cancellation and refund policies.
What it means in practice: a stop costs tiredness at both ends. For a young pilgrim that is a fair saving. For an older parent it is the start of a bad week.
2. Hotels
What to check:
- The hotel by name, in both cities. Not a star rating, not "walking
distance".
- How many minutes is the walk, in season, at night.
- How many share the room at the quoted price.
- How many nights in Madinah, which packages trim first.
- Whether it is the same hotel for the whole stay.
- Lifts, and how far the room is from them.
How far are Hajj hotels from the Haram and hotels in Madinah for Hajj pilgrims.
What it means in practice: the walk at two in the morning, at the pace of whoever is with you. That is the only number that matters here.
3. Transport, which is where Hajj is decided
This is the component people check least and it carries the most.
What to check:
- Which transfers are included, listed one by one: airport to hotel, both
ends, and the journey between Makkah and Madinah.
- The Mina camp's position, because much of the movement during the days of
Hajj is on foot from wherever that camp sits. A camp near the Jamarat does more
for you than any vehicle.
- What the waiting is realistically like. This is the part nobody is warned
about and the part pilgrims find hardest.
Hajj transport in Saudi Arabia and Mina camps during Hajj.
The order to check them in
- Transport, meaning the Mina camp category and position.
- Hotels, meaning the walk in Makkah and the nights in Madinah.
- Flights, meaning the dates and whether it is direct.
Most people do this in exactly the reverse order, which is why packages are so often compared on the wrong things.

What else is bundled that you cannot see
Staffing. How many pilgrims one group leader is responsible for is not a line on any quote and is paid for in every one. It is the component that decides what happens when something goes wrong.
Ask the number, and ask whether those leaders are the company's own staff.
What is not bundled
Gifts, taxis, phone and data, excess baggage and your spending money, in every package anywhere. Hidden costs in Hajj packages.
Ask us for all three in writing
Send us your dates and who is travelling and we will send the three components named and numbered: the airline and dates, the hotels and their walks, the camp category and the transfers. Our departures are on the Hajj packages page.
