Hajj 2027, priced plainly.

There are two schemes, and the choice is not about money alone

Pakistan’s Hajj quota for 2027 is 179,210 pilgrims. Sixty per cent of it, 107,526 seats, goes to the government scheme and forty per cent, 71,684 seats, to the private scheme, a ratio the Ministry’s policy allows to change only with the approval of the Federal Cabinet.

The government scheme is cheaper. It offers a long package of roughly 38 to 42 days and a short one of roughly 20 to 25 days, and you accept the accommodation, the flight and the Maktab that are arranged for you.

The private scheme costs more, and what the money buys is specificity: your dates, your hotels and therefore your walk to the Haram, your Maktab, your airline and who you travel with. For a family travelling together, or with elderly parents, those are not luxuries. They are the journey.

What a package from us covers

One desk handles the whole of it, which is the point of using an operator at all rather than assembling a Hajj out of parts.

• The Hajj visa and its processing, through the attested route.
• Return airfare from Karachi, on IATA-issued tickets.
• Hotels in Makkah and Madinah, named in the quote, not described as a star rating.
• The Maktab, stated in writing, because it decides where your tent stands in Mina.
• Mina and Arafat services, tents, catering and the Muzdalifah night.
• Ground transport between Jeddah or Madinah, Makkah, Mina, Arafat and back.
• Ziyarat in both cities.
• A group leader who travels with you, and a person of ours in Makkah you can reach at night.
• The paperwork: your Unique Hajj Identification Number and your booking on the government portal.

What is not in a package, from anybody: the Qurbani unless it is stated, personal expenses, excess baggage, and anything the Saudi authorities introduce mid-season. Ask for the exclusions in writing. An operator who will not put them in writing is telling you something.

What actually moves a Hajj package price

Five things, and only one of them is the hotel’s star rating.

1. The Maktab

The single most underestimated line on any Hajj package. It decides how far your tent in Mina is from the Jamarat and therefore how hard the three hardest days will be. Two packages with the same hotel and different Maktabs are not the same journey. See what a Maktab is.

2. How far the hotel is from the Haram

Measured in minutes on foot rather than in metres on a map, because the metres in a brochure are a straight line to the nearest boundary and you will walk neither in a straight line nor to the boundary. How to read a hotel’s distance explains the difference.

3. How long the package is

A 14 day package and a 28 day package differ by a fortnight of hotel nights and meals. Shorter is cheaper and harder on the body; longer is dearer and gentler. For an older traveller the long package is not automatically the kind choice either.

4. How many share the room

A quad and a double in the same hotel are very different prices per head. This is the lever most families have available and the one they think about least.

5. The airline and when it was ticketed

The fare is the largest single line and the one nobody controls. It moves with the season and with how early the ticket was issued, which is most of why an early booking is cheaper rather than merely calmer.

Your money does not come to us, and that is the law now

Under the Ministry’s Private Hajj Policy for 2027 to 2030, all private Hajj payments are executed through a Government Account held with the State Bank of Pakistan. Your payment is tagged to you and to the operator, and the funds are paid out directly to the Saudi service providers.

The policy then says the part that protects you: operators are prohibited from collecting, holding, or transferring funds independently. No cash. No transfer into a company account or a personal one. Bookings run through the government portal and every pilgrim is issued a Unique Hajj Identification Number.
